An event of momentous proportions occurred earlier this month in the home of the United Martial Arts Academy (UMAA) located at the Florida City Outlet Mall in Florida City. Owner and Sifu, Henry Regalado along with staff and students got the opportunity to spend the day with who is destine to become the next household name, and action-pack movie superhero of the world of Martial Art, World Champion Mr. Cung Le. Despite an unbelievable busy schedule, Mr. Le took the time to fly in from California by invitation of Sifu Henry to conduct a martial arts seminar with the students of UMAA and participants from as far away as Chicago. Taking advantage of a very rare opportunity of interaction, students and instructors eyes were peeled on every word and technique demonstrated by Mr. Le. The seminar consisted of four hours of strategic and heart pounding expertise on how to better oneself in competition. Le preformed one comprehensible kick, punch and throw after another. The students also got a chance to apply each technique as they pared off one on one. At the end of the day of countless drills and non-stop demonstration, the students agreed that knowledge was the ultimate technique learned. Mr. Le resume’ and experience in the ring spoke for itself. According to Dave Carter of Inside Kung Fu, Le is pound for pound one of the most exciting fighters of all time. He has a perfect 17-0 record in San Shou competition with 12 knock outs; and a Mix Martial Arts (MMA) record of 6-0 with 6 knock outs. Despite a list of championships belt from as far back as 1998, it is safe to assume that the most one of the most inspirational champion victories came in 2008 against one time training companion, Frank Shamrock, a fellow San Jose resident and Strike force Middleweight MMA Title holder.
